Why do we have to study in university?

Why do we have to study in University.

Most people would like to continue their study in university as soon as they graduate from high school. They might plan it months or even years before they decide what to study when they are in university. They ask their school teachers, relatives and parents for advice and information what to learn and which university to attend. I also do the same things, I ask my parents for advice and suggestion for university is such a much bigger place and has more complicated rules and things to learn than high school.

When I study in university later, I intend to learn business. According to my parents, business is going to to be very important in the future. I completely agree with them for I like to solve problems, trade and analyze numbers of financial reports. These can be signs of my attractions to business world.

The second things I want to learn is meeting people from different countries. This is very possible because I am going to study in one of the best universities in Singapore. Meeting the university professors and students of different nationalities and exchanging knowledge and ideas with them can be an incredible experience in life. It is also the real training before I get involved in the business world.

Singapore is one of the English speaking countries which means that English is the official language and the language medium in classes. Indirectly I will learn English deeper and better, I believe that my English will get improved significantly . This, of course, will help me a lot in my work in the future because I will be accustomed to speaking English with others of different nationalities.

Living and studying in different country can be another exciting experience. I can learn other people’s customs and cultures. Furthermore, I can also learn to be independent because I live by myself, separated from parents and other members of family. It means I have to learn to take care of myself in any situations. I will have to be more responsible for whatever I do while I am away from my parents. In some cases, I will have to make a decision by myself, especially when I have to deal with my activities in campus and other things, such as meal and clothes, in the boarding house.

The things I learn and the experience I will have during my undergraduate education are going to form me into a person who is ready to welcome the challenges that I might face in the future.
